Stenciled warps and wefts

This seems to be a reinterpretation of Mondrian’s iconic grids and colors.

The person who sewed this kimono made a great effort to preserve the designer’s intent. The left and right center panels are arranged so that all the horizontal lines match. The sleeves too seem to have been carefully positioned. A black line borders the top of each sleeve, and a full rectangle is nestled in exactly the same place at each wrist.
